When are you open?

Country Kids is open the whole year! School holidays are filled with families with school aged kids plus little ones and the rest of the year we are choc a bloc with preschool families. Some activities are not available all year round so contact us if you are thinking of a winter holiday and we can give you more details. The South of France is magical all year round!

Can grandparents come along too?

Absolutely! Our holidays work really well for three generation getaways. Granny and grandpa have time with the little ones, time with the big ones and time to themselves and they love the wine tasting, local markets and off site activities.

How do most people get to Le Mas Pandit?

Most people fly. If you want to drive we are about 10 hours from Calais. A lot of our guests stop over in Orleans if they come this way. You can come by train to Montpellier or Beziers or you can put your car on the train to Narbonne (1 hour away) or Avignon (2 and a bit hours away).

Do we need to hire/have a car with us?

Absolutely, yes! We live in the countryside and you cannot get about without one. To go to activities, go shopping, on day trips and for your romantic dinners on babysitting nights you’ll need a car.

What time can we arrive?

Our check in time is 4pm but if you arrive beforehand we will show you around and give you some towels to go for a swim. We recognise that it is easier to be here with all the kids facilities we have on site and do not want you to be looking for service stations to wait in! If you let us know that you are arriving early then we will give your accommodation changeover priority wherever possible.

What clothes should we bring?

The days are usually warm and glorious here.  In April and May you will need trousers and long sleeves some of the time in all probability and it is a good idea to bring a thin waterproof that you can stick in a bag if you go out (we hope you have no rain at all during your stay but the weather is one of the few things out of our control!).  Summer day times are hot and sunny.  Throughout the year the evenings are slightly cooler which is nice in the heat of the high summer.  So, you need to bring something warm to wear should you need it when you go out in the evening or to come out and sit at the bar after the kids are asleep…and bring trainers for your off site activities/tennis.

Do we need to bring sheets and towels?

No, we run a quality establishment here! We provide all bedding and towels as well as a set of pool/beach towels for each family.

Do I need to bring a hairdryer and what clothes washing facilities do you have?

All apartments have a hairdryer, iron and ironing board as well as a washing machine. We provide a free clothes drying service if the sun ……..

Do we need to bring cycle and riding helmets and do you have baby seats on your bikes?

We have helmets here and bikes with babyseats. The pony school and horse riding instructors have helmets for you so you don’t need to use up valuable packing space on these items!

Do we need to bring tennis rackets and balls?

No, we have enough for everyone.

Are there nice restaurants to go to on our babysitting nights?

Yes. The closest is 1 minute in the car or 15 minutes walk in the beautiful countryside surrounding us and then there are several more within a 30 minute radius. We will recommend and book for you plus give you fail safe directions!

How far is the nearest village and supermarket?

The closest large supermarket is 20 minutes drive but if you don't want to, you don't need to set foot in it during your stay…find out why below!

What is the arrival food pack?

We have tried to cover the basics so there is: milk, baguettes, olive oil, cheese, butter, cereal, pasta, tomato and pesto pasta sauces, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, tuna, mayo, sweetcorn, soup, apple juice, pomme pots, fresh fruit, vegetables, and more! We have homemade frozen meals, wine, beer and a few other food items on sale in our shop and there is a lunchtime menu of salads and filled baguettes available to order. Included in your holiday there are also various meals through the week Many families find that with the arrival shopping pack, what we have on sale in our shop and the included meals provided, they do not need to go to the supermarket if they don't want to. Also, we have a shopping service which costs €30 plus the cost of the groceries. If you would like to do make use of the service you just e-mail us with your list the week before arrival and the shopping will be waiting in the apartment when you arrive.

Which meals are included?

Breakfast, communal lunch on Sunday and Friday, dinners delivered to your apartment on Monday and Wednesday and communal kids' dinner on Tuesday and Thursdays (the babysitting nights). There is also an afternoon snack for kids in the crèche/kids club at about 3pm and cake and sandwiches served at 4.30 pm during the week. Please then move up the question from the end about halal and kosher so that the food related questions are together. Also on the baby listener question please add this sentence: If you have an iphone we advise you to download a great baby listening app, Baby Monitor. It has proved most effective avoiding all problems of thick stone walls and distance. It allows you to use two phones (only one needs to be an iphone) to listen in on your child. The iphone is placed in the baby's room and you give the app another number to call (your other mobile or a fixed number). If there is noise for more than 15 seconds it calls the number and you can also listen in.

Can you cater for vegetarian/halal/kosher guests?

Yes, we will ask you before you arrive if you have any dietary requirements and we will not let you go hungry!

Should we bring a baby listener?

It is a good idea to bring one if it works well as ours have proved temperamental in the past with the old stone walls of our buildings.

What medical facilities are there nearby?

We have a very nice GP surgery with one English doctor and another two English speaking doctors in it. There is a 24 hour clinic in Lodeve 20 minutes away and exceptional hospital facilities if needed in Montpellier.
